Seaweed grows along unpolluted coasts of tropical area.
How to prepare:
1)Wash seaweed with clean cold water to remove the attached salt. If hot water, it will melt.
2)Soak the washed seaweed with clean water, change the water when necessary, until seaweed expanded into a loose. (It's invisible colour)
3)After soaked, rinse with cold water, drain and serve; Keep fresh in refrigerator for later consumption.
(Keeping in refrigerator reduced the fishy smell of seaweed) Soak in ice water, seaweed will taste more elastic.
Method of cooking:
1) Rock Sugar Sea Birdnest Soup
a. Red dates+ rock sugar+ american ginseng boil until cooked and leave to cool, add shredded seaweed and serve.
b. Snow fungus+rock sugar+dried longan+red dates+seaweed(shredded), boil and serve.
It will be look sticky @ 1st due to boiling water. It is best to put it last after everything is cooked.
2) Cold Dish
-Shredded seaweed+ shredded cucumber+ shredded carrot (any fruits or vegetables)+add seasoning and serve.
3) Hot Thick Soup
-Replace corn flour/tapioca flour solution as a thickener, heated porridge +seaweed, simmer for 5 minutes.
4) Seaweed Jelly
-1500cc water+500g seaweed, boil until dissolved, add fruit juice, honey(any flavour), refrigerator and done.
5) Juice
-Cut seaweed into small pieces+ favourite fruit to taste, blend them together for healthy drinkable juice
6) Seaweed salad
- Mix together with fruits salad or vegetable salad.
7) Served as sashimi or salad
-It gave a crunchy texture into your dish.
